Most MRI and NMR technicians, while being thoroughly trained on the magnetom, have very little training or knowledge of shielding that surrounds it. Frequently door gaskets are damaged by passing patient lines through the closed door gasket. Fabric tape is regularly stuck to the gasket material. And so on….

These shielding failures can create unsafe exposure levels to magnetic radiation. A room that we just repaired has had no maintenence in 17 years! There was almost no gasket still intact. That allowed a path for the radiation to leave the room.

Enter us. We will repair the door and train the users to maintain door integrity. We will also set up regular door maintenance as to head off shielding failures before they happen.

This used room is in excellent shape and measures 84 1/2″W x 11′D x 8′2 1/2″H outer to outer shielding. It has a 15″ x 15″ penetration panel and a 3′ x 7′ single knife edge door. There is a second identical room available as well. $6300 plus shipping and installation.
